A social media commenter who has offered information about upcoming games in the past has gone for broke with supposed details about the much-loved role-playing game Persona 5 Royal. According to CrazyLeaksOnATrain, the title will be making its way to the Xbox and PC platforms “soon”, with the game also being made available on Xbox Game Pass at the time of its new mutli-platform launch.
The original Persona 5 was released in 2016 and was published by Atlus, which is a subsidiary of the famous Japanese video game company Sega. In 2019, an improved version of the title was released as Persona 5 Royal, and this is currently a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Combined sales of Persona 5 and Royal have been healthy, with over 4.6 million units sold, and reviews for both games were universally positive.
Unsurprisingly, the claim that Persona 5 will come to the Xbox, PC, and Xbox Game Pass soon has been met with some raised eyebrows, especially as the same tipster has been incorrect with some information in the past. For instance, the same source stated that Ghost of Tsushima would be coming to PC soon back in June 2020, and although there is a possibility it was later canceled or delayed because of COVID-19, the lack of its appearance indicates that Persona fans should remain cautious about this current news.
