Plaion begins selling a white version of the ZX Spectrum alongside a Collector's edition

While Blaze Entertainment plans to release a handheld version of the ZX Spectrum, Retro Games Ltd has announced a special edition of The Spectrum released in 2024. This new version is based on a story that the original ZX Spectrum was available in a special edition white color that was gifted to Clive Sinclair, the inventor of the 8-bit computer, when it sold 1 million units.
The original ZX Spectrum was only available in black, but now, buyers can purchase the 2024 remake in the legendary white color. Available in two versions — The Spectrum White Edition and The Spectrum Collector's Edition — both are sold by Plaion Replai.
The Spectrum White Edition includes the 8-bit computer in white, The Joystick 8-button controller, The Microdrive which stores games and programs, a copy of Crash Magazine, an HDMI cable, a USB-C cable, and a quickstart guide. It is available to buy now for £129.
The Spectrum Collectors Edition includes the 8-bit computer in white; The Printer, which is a monochrome thermal printer made for The Spectrum; The Microdrive; The Quickshot II 8-button controller; The Gamepad controller; a spiral-bound manual; a copy of Crash Magazine; an HDMI cable; and a USB-C cable. It is available to pre-order for £229.99 and will begin shipping on June 26.
The Spectrum comes with 48 games with support for 4 save slots per game and the ability to rewind up to 40 seconds. It can emulate the 16, 48, and 128K models of the ZX Spectrum, has a fully-functional keyboard, and provides the full ZX Spectrum experience complete with BASIC programming and virtual cassettes.
