Philips Hue app version 5.42.0 for iOS is now available for users of the brand’s smart home products. It follows version 5.40, with version 5.41 seemingly skipped. This earlier release was said to bring various bug fixes and stability improvements.
Version 5.42.0 brings two changes to Philips Hue smart home users. Firstly, users can now choose whether to show or hide the Home on/off switch on the Home tab. This could be useful if you find yourself accidentally switching off all the lights in your home sometimes. To make the change, go to Settings > App preferences.
Plus, the release notes indicate that it is now easier to create a Scene. A new plus (+) icon is available from a Room or Zone, with the option to browse the Scene Gallery or choose from your favourite Scenes. You also have the ability to create your own scene or copy a scene from another room.
You can now download the Philips Hue app version 5.42.0 for iOS from the Apple App Store. It is unclear when a version of this update will reach users of the Philips Hue app for Android, which was last updated on April 15th.
