POCO M6 Pro 5G: Xiaomi starts teasing new mid-range smartphone before launch
Xiaomi has now started teasing the POCO M6 Pro 5G in India. While the company has not revealed a release date yet, it has implicitly confirmed that the POCO M6 Pro 5G will arrive before other POCO M6 series models. Additionally, the company has offered a look at the smartphone's design, which appears to build on the POCO M5.
Moreover, the POCO M6 Pro 5G has two rear-facing cameras, plus a third aperture for an LED flash array. Xiaomi has not offered up any other specifications yet, although we imagine that they will within the next few days or so. Currently, the device is expected to be a re-branded Redmi Note 12R, which will also soon arrive in India as the Redmi 12 5G. Incidentally, leaker Kacper Skrzypek claims that the Redmi 12 5G will serve as the global version of the Redmi Note 12R too.
In comparison, the POCO M6 Pro 5G is said to be an Indian exclusive. If Skrzypek is correct, then the POCO M6 Pro 5G will be one of the first smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, a 4 nm chipset that Qualcomm launched in June. Moreover, the POCO M6 Pro 5G should have a 5,000 mAh battery, as well as a 6.79-inch IPS display with a 1080p native resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, a 50 MP primary camera should be on the device's back panel, with a 2 MP auxiliary rear-facing sensor and a 5 MP front-facing sensor rounding out the POCO M6 Pro 5G's camera hardware.
