Xiaomi's sub-brand, Poco, launched a new entry-level smartphone, the Poco M3 a few days ago. It appears that the new device is selling in rather decent numbers, with Poco officially providing sales numbers from the first time the phone went on sale.
In a post on Twitter, Poco confirmed that it sold 70,000 units of the Poco M3 in just thirty minutes when the phone went on sale after launch. While the Poco M3 has a regular retail price of US$149, early bird pricing is listed at US$129 for the base model with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. That means that the company made at least US$9 million of sales in just thirty minutes. Of course, Poco sold a whole bunch of units with the 4/128 GB configuration (US$149 early bird pricing) but we lack data on that.
The Poco M3 sports a 6.53-inch FHD+ LCD, 4 GB of RAM, up to 128 GB of storage, a 6000 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 662, a 48 MP main camera, an 8 MP selfie camera, and 18 W charging.
70,000 #POCOM3 sold in the first 30 mins on the first day of our open sale! You guys rock!
