After initially publishing a list of Switch games incompatible with the Switch 2 in early April, Nintendo updated the list on Tuesday, 27 May. The update reveals that the Japanese gaming giant has been actively working to resolve issues with a number of games. The list now confirms that Doom Eternal, Everspace, Batman: The Enemy Within, NBA 2K 25, and World of Tanks Blitz will be fully functional on the Switch 2 following an update.
In terms of Nintendo’s first-party titles, only Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit is incompatible with the Switch 2. This is because the new console is larger and simply won’t fit in the cardboard VR headset. Several games only work when the Switch 2 is paired with first-gen Joy-Con controllers, including 1-2-Switch, Everybody 1-2-Switch, Ring Fit Adventure, Game Builder Garage, Nintendo Switch Sports, WarioWare: Move It!, and Labo Toy-Con 01, 02 and 03 Kits.
Depending on the game, the incompatibility may be due to the Joy-Con 2's lack of an infrared camera or inability to fit in accessories like the Ring-Con. There are a total of 118 games with startup issues on the Switch 2, amongst which are popular titles such as Darksiders Genesis, Dead by Daylight, Final Fantasy, Little Nightmares Complete Edition, NieR: Automata, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Nintendo says they are still investigating these issues.
Furthermore, YouTube and Crunchyroll are currently not working on the Nintendo Switch 2, though it remains unclear whether new versions of these apps will be released for the new console. Around 50 games are playable on the Switch 2 but not without issues, including notable titles like Alan Wake Remastered, Alien: Isolation, Factorio, Harvestella, Port Royale 4, and the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.
