Reviews for the Oppo Find X5

87.9% Oppo Find X5 Smartphone Review: Budget Smartphone with a Four Digit Price Tag | Notebookcheck
The Find X5 inherits most of its features from Oppo's flagship Find X5 Pro smartphone, but costs considerably less. While you’ll have to invest around 1000 Euros, you’ll be rewarded with a very strong high-end bundle overall.
80% Oppo Find X5 review: A flagship worthy of greatness
Source: Expert Reviews English
The Oppo Find X5 is a meticulously thought-out flagship smartphone, with a keen price to match. Cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S22 and £300 less than the Pro version, the regular Find X5 is a bit of a steal, and it’s definitely worthy of a place among the best in the business. Hitting the same high notes as its more expensive counterpart, the Find X5 excels in practically every area, with a long-lasting (and fast-charging) battery, a stunning design and a great, colour-accurate display. Even the use of the last-gen Snapdragon 888 isn’t much of a downer, providing rapid performance in our tests. The only real criticism is the lack of an IP rating, but if you can look past this you’ll be rewarded with a truly terrific flagship at an unbeatable price.

Oppo Find X5 review: Healthy compromise
Source: Pocket Lint English
With its speedy performance, great display, software, cameras and battery life, the Find X5 does all the important things well. Yes, it could do better at nighttime photography, and some won't like that it has last year's processor, but it's a very solid all-rounder.

Oppo Find X5 Battery test
Source: DxOMark English
With a fast 80W charger, the Oppo Find X5 battery performance reached a global score of 71, which places it fairly in the middle of database. It offered a decent charging experience, reaching 80% in only 25 minutes and providing high additional autonomy when charging for 5 minutes. The wireless charging experience was also good, charging 22 minutes faster than the other wireless-charging phones in our database. Although the device provided 2 days of autonomy, an average showing overall, the Find X5’s particularly weak areas were its low autonomy during on-the-go tests and its high discharge current when streaming music. For a device in the Ultra-premium segment, the Oppo Find X5’s strongest performance was in charging, which provided an autonomy that was slightly above average in its segment, despite a poor showing in on-the-go results.

Oppo Find X5 review: Understated sophistication
Source: Ausdroid English
The Find X5 is a great phone. Aesthetically pleasing and effortlessly functional, using the phone is a seamless user experience. Perhaps in part because of this, it’s very easy to forget that a lot of effort and high spec componentry went into making it ‘just work’. You can find yourself thinking that the price of $1,399.00 is a bit high. I think we all wish that the gadget we are after was a lower price, but in this case, given the experience, the display, the battery life and the hardware provided by this phone justifies the cost. The only real downside to this phone is the lack of expandable storage, you only get 242GB of available space and while that might seem like a lot initially it will fill up quickly and you’re left with no option to add space. It seems strange for a phone at this price point in 2022 to have no capability for an SD card. If the Oppo Find X5 ticks all the boxes you can purchase one from Oppo directly via their website and also from the usual in person and online stores.

80% Oppo Find X5 review: a flagship smartphone that costs a little less
Source: T3 English
The Oppo Find X5 is a 5G Android smartphone with a lot going for it, including a bright 120Hz display, fast performance and even faster charging. But its crowning glory is the camera system which can take some truly excellent shots. There are a couple of minor downsides but nothing can take away from the fact that this is a fantastic piece of kit.

The Oppo Find X5 is a fantastic phone with lots to offer across the board, but it especially thrives at taking photos using its advanced three-lens camera system. Alongside that, you also get a sleek curved screen and massive battery life with super-fast charging so you’ll never be caught short again. Admittedly the design on the back isn’t going to wow anyone but most people will cover that up with a case anyway. I would definitely recommend the Oppo Find X5 and actually, I think it’s a better buy than the Pro model if you don’t want such a big screen, you don’t mind losing out a little on display quality and you're not fussed about your next phone being waterproof.

At this price, it’s hard to criticise the Oppo Find X5. It looks good, feels very well built, has a bright, vivid screen that’s great for entertainment, brilliant cameras on the whole, and performs just as well as any flagship. No matter how hard you push it, there’s never any stutter or lag. It is possible to find areas where improvements could have been made, though not necessarily at this price. Chief among these is the lack of an IP rating, so you need to be careful not to get the phone too wet. The cheaper Pixel 6 as well as the more expensive Galaxy S22 are both IP68 rated. The Find X5 isn’t alone though: the Xiaomi 12 also isn't IP-rated. Elsewhere, you could find cause to moan about the fact storage isn’t expandable and that the 256GB model is the only choice. You might even say the Find X5 is a little too expensive and that the telephoto lens has only a 2x zoom. But with rivals failing to offer anything noticeably better for the same cost, the X5 surely deserves a place on your short list along with those already mentioned, plus others such as the OnePlus 10 Pro.

A well-rounded flagship phone that’s aimed squarely at the mainstream. The Find X5 offers a superb screen, excellent battery life, it takes great photos, and doesn’t suffer from the use of a previous-generation chipset. But while it’s priced to challenge the Galaxy S22, it lacks that phone’s refinement. For the best bang per buck, Samsung remains the brand to beat.

If the price was right, the Oppo Find X5 could have been an easy recommendation. It's a solid flagship with a decently-sized display with all the bells and whistles. If we need to get nit-picky, we would have appreciated a zoom camera with a further reach as most of the Find X5's competitors go beyond 2x. But the sad reality is that Oppo's brand recognition is what gets in the way. The company is trying to sell the handset at a price close to €1,000, which is a barrier only a few manufacturers dare to cross. And those are usually the ones that made a name for themselves. Oppo may be a premium brand in China, but it struggles to compete with the likes of Samsung, Apple and even Xiaomi. In fact, the sister OEM OnePlus still hasn't crossed that line. If the Find X5 gets a significant price cut down the road, it might be worth considering. For now, it's asking way too much for being a nice phone but not a great flagship.

Oppo Find X5 Review
Source: OI Spice Tech News English
The Oppo Find 5X smartphone is recommendable for several reasons like its premium look, extra-ordinary camera, perfect battery & charging composition, and effortless display. Yet, there are a few nitpicks as it does not possess the most advanced chipset known or absence of IP rating. However, if these are not your concerns, then you may go for the Find 5X whenever this 5G smartphone is available in your country. Still, I would suggest you consider & compare Oppo Find X5 with its siblings and other brands’ flagship products under the same range before the final decision. On that note, it’s not the best option as per the price, instead, you can check the Samsung Galaxy S22 for better specs and performance.

By now, we know that when Oppo launches a phone, it's going to be a high-quality handset that ticks a lot of boxes – and the Find X5 is no different. Despite one or two weaknesses, this is a device that should be on your shortlist if you're looking for a premium mid-ranger.

Oppo Find X5 Camera test
Source: DxOMark English
The Oppo Find X5 is the slightly less feature-packed (and more affordable) alternative to the Pro model in Oppo’s X5 Ultra-Premium line. It swaps the Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset for the slightly older Snapdragon 888 and comes with a slightly smaller and lower-resolution display, but the camera hardware and specs look very similar to the top-of-the-line model’s. Like for the X5 Pro, Swedish camera makers Hasselblad have contributed to the development and a Marisilicon X neural processing unit helps with image processing. Both primary and ultra-wide cameras feature 50MP 1/1.56″ image sensors, while the 12MP tele unit uses a smaller 1/3.4″ sensor. In video mode, you can record footage with up to 60 frames per second at 4K resolution.

Oppo Find X5 Audio test
Source: DxOMark English
The Oppo Find X5 provides an average audio performance for an ultra-premium device. Its strengths in playback were in listening to music and watching movies, helped by the default activation of Dolby SFX, which brings clarity and brightness to sounds in all use cases. As a recording device, the Oppo did better in memo and meeting room recordings, but when used in conjunction with the camera to record selfies or life videos, the audio scored a little lower.

Oppo Find X5 Display test
Source: DxOMark English
The Oppo Find X5 display is well suited for overall indoor and low-light use, thanks to good color fidelity and good readability. But when it comes to watching videos, oversaturated colors and hard-to-see dark tones make viewing of HDR10 content quite difficult and uncomfortable on the eyes. On the other hand, for gaming, the device’s display offered a comfortable and smooth experience, with no visible frame drops, despite some aliasing.

Model:

The latest smartphone model to join the Oppo family is none other than the Oppo Find X5. It is a well-known fact that a two-tier approach to flagship phones is nothing new in today’s world. It is always the Plus, Pro or Ultra variants that command the lion’s share of the attention, but the more mainstream alternatives are becoming more difficult to ignore day by day and one of such perfect examples would be the Oppo Find X5. Speaking of its design, there is a near-complete absence of right angles, with the rear camera module sort of bulging out of the frosted matte glass. It feels rather smooth to the touch, and is far better at disguising fingerprints than the glossy, reflective finishes seen on many rivals out there. While many may despise the curved-edge display as the rounded parts can sometimes be a distraction when they catch the light, the shallow curve on this phone really minimizes that effect. It is worth noting that both sides of the phone curve towards the metal frame, so it sits comfortably in the palm, and the 6.5-inch display is perfectly manageable with one hand. On the other hand, the under-display fingerprint sensor has been placed sensibly far up the screen, so one would not need to stretch the thumb just to unlock the phone. In addition, the 2400x1080 resolution is sharp enough without demanding too much from the chipset when playing games, it supports HDR10+ video playback, and delivers the kind of vibrant, punchy colours that can be expected from an AMOLED screen.

As far as its camera is concerned, it is the same as the setup found in the more expensive Find X5 Pro, with 50-megapixel main and ultra-wide sensors, plus a 13-megapixel telephoto good for 2 x optical zoom. The only difference between the two is that the Find X5 relies on conventional optical image stabilization, while the Find X5 Pro gets a more advanced 5-axis stabilizer. Overall, photos taken in bright outdoor settings are well exposed, colourful, and packed with fine detail. As for the ultra-wide lens, it delivers slightly more muted images than the main sensor, but results are otherwise consistent, with the same level of fine detail and well-handled exposures. One of the main differences between the Find X5 and its Pro sibling would be the chipset powering them. While the more expensive phone gets the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, this regular Find X5 gets an older Snapdragon 888, paired with 8GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1’s biggest gains are on the gaming front, and it is here the Find X5 starts to feel a little less like a flagship phone but even then, it is only apparent if one is laser-focused on frame rates. Overall, it is a great phone to be explored, depending on the need and preference of the user.

Qualcomm Adreno 660: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 35% faster than the Adreno 650 in the Snapdragon 865 SoC and offers a 20% better power efficiency. For Android it should be one of the fastest graphics cards in 2021.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
