The Oppo Find X2 is a premium phone with a flagship screen and plenty of power, storage, and RAM. It doesn’t pack the mightiest camera around, and there’s no wireless charging either, but the inclusion of incredibly nippy 65W fast charging and all-day battery makes it a fine alternative to the identically-priced OnePlus 8 Pro.

The Oppo Find X2 offers largely the same experience as the illustrious Oppo Find X2 Pro for £300 less, with one of the best screens on the market, faultless performance, and an appealing design. The existence of the OnePlus 8 Pro – a very similar package with several notable advantages – tempers our enthusiasm somewhat, but the Oppo Find X2 remains an easy phone to like.

It's virtually impossible to make a bad €1000 smartphone, and the Oppo Find X2 is far from one. It is, in fact, a chart-topper in key areas like display, performance, and battery charging. But with the X2's steep pricing and Oppo's choice not to disturb the Pro at the top in terms of features, the Find X2 ends up too expensive to be competitive. We really like the Oppo Find X2 in isolation. At this price though, we'd just pick one of the competitors.

Oppo has packed its new flagship full of all the top-end features you’d expect from a premium device in 2020, and more, so there’s certainly a lot to like here. The cameras do feel a little sub-par though, at least in terms of specs.

The Oppo Find X2 might be the true 'flagship', but the differences between this and the Pro model seem fairly minimal. You've got the latest chipset, 5G and plenty of RAM, plus an exciting camera array and beautiful display. For £899 this could be one of the very best Android phones around.
