The Oppo A6s 5G is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Oppo A6 Pro 5G. Oppo remains faithful to the design of the A6 series and continues to use a flat frame and a rather subtle, square camera bump on the latest model. The design looks modern, but the relatively wide chin below the display hints at the low price of this mid-range smartphone.
With a thickness of 0.34 inches and a weight of 7.62 oz, the Oppo A6s 5G is not particularly compact, but it offers a very large 7,000mAh battery that can be charged via USB-C at up to 80 watts. Wireless charging is not supported. The chassis is IP69 certified and therefore water-resistant. Moreover, the 6.75-inch display is based on an IPS panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a respectable brightness of 1,125 nits, but it also has a pretty low resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels.
Oppo also cuts some costs with the processor and has opted for the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, which is a 6nm ARM chipset from 2024 that features two Cortex-A76 performance cores with boost clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The Oppo A6s 5G is further equipped with a 16MP f/2.4 selfie camera, a 50MP f/1.8 main camera and a 2MP monochrome sensor. A fingerprint sensor, an NFC chip and dual-SIM slot round out the feature set.
Price and availability
Oppo has not yet confirmed the launch date and official price of the Oppo A6s 5G. However, the smartphone is expected to be cheaper than the Oppo A6 Pro 5G, which has an MSRP of €299 in Europe.
