The OnePlus Watch has appeared once again, this time at SIRIM in Malaysia. In Malaysia, manufacturers can only sell wearables once SIRIM has approved them, so the OnePlus Watch's appearance here is a good sign that it is close to release. So far, OnePlus has not confirmed that it plans to launch its first smartwatch anytime soon, but rumour has it that it will debut on March 23 alongside the OnePlus 9 series.
SIRIM has revealed the OnePlus Watch's model number too, which is W310GB. Similarly, OnePlus certified the W501GB with the BIS in India, which is probably a second variant of the same device. It is unclear if OnePlus plans to sell the W310GB and W501GB in the same countries simultaneously, although the company has registered two smartwatch models with the DPMA in Germany.
As the sketches below show, one has a sportier design, while the other looks like a conventional 'luxury' smartwatch. Either way, the OnePlus Watch is expected to launch running Wear OS, which would boost Google's foundering smartwatch OS. Samsung may be joining the Wear OS roster this year too, as we have previously reported.
