OnePlus Ace: Release date and design confirmed for China-bound mid-range smartphone
OnePlus has begun teasing the Ace in China, its next mid-range smartphone. Thought to be based on the Realme GT Neo 3, the OnePlus Ace is also expected to land in India as the OnePlus 10R. Previously, OnePlus has hinted that it would announce the OnePlus 10R on April 28, likely alongside the Nord CE 2 Lite and the Nord Buds. However, it turns out that the OnePlus Ace will launch in China a week earlier.
Based on the promotional images, OnePlus plans to release the OnePlus Ace in two colours. Seemingly, both have textured backs, albeit with a dual-textured finish. Since the OnePlus Ace is a re-branded Realme GT Neo 3, it lacks OnePlus' signature alert slider. In fact, the OnePlus Ace resembles an iPhone 13 crossed with the camera design of the Galaxy S22 series. While OnePlus has not shown what the Ace's front looks like, JD.com has. Unsurprisingly, the OnePlus Ace is the spitting image of the Realme GT Neo 3.
So far, OnePlus and JD.com have only shared images of the OnePlus Ace, embedded throughout this article. Based on the Realme GT Neo 3, the OnePlus Ace will launch with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that has a 90 Hz refresh rate, a 1080p resolution and a 394 PPI pixel density. Additionally, the OnePlus Ace should feature the Dimensity 8100, a 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP primary camera. Potentially, OnePlus could release 80 W and 150 W fast charging variants, but OnePlus has not started teasing these details yet.
