The flow of leaks and confirmations related to the OnePlus Ace 6T doesn’t stop. Recently, the company confirmed that it will be the first phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. We also know that the device will get a Genshin Impact Special Edition. Furthermore, recent findings suggest that the Ace 6T will be the OnePlus 15R for the global market. Now, a trusted tech tipster has shared renders with the OnePlus Ace 6T design, leaving little to the imagination.
The latest leaked images are courtesy of @evleaks. They show the company's latest design guidelines, sporting clean, minimalistic aesthetics and refined lines like the flagship OnePlus 15. The handset appears to feature a metal body and frame as well.
That said, the renders reveal one key design difference with the OnePlus 15: the camera module features only two sensors.
OnePlus Ace 6T design leak: Dual camera confirmed
This downtoned camera setup reflects OnePlus's latest strategy: prioritizing raw performance over camera versatility. The company appears willing to cut features like a telephoto lens to maintain a lower price tag.
While the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor ensures high-level performance, the cost-cutting in camera sensors may disappoint some global users. The OnePlus 13R offered three lenses, including a 2x telephoto camera. So, the potential OnePlus 15R could offer less flexibility in multiple shooting scenarios.
It's highly unlikely that the OnePlus 15R for global markets will have three cameras. Both the OnePlus Ace 6, launched in October, and the OnePlus Ace 6T leaked in these images, only have two camera sensors. Plus, after editing the official teaser of the OnePlus 15R, the presence of a rear dual camera system is pretty evident. It's LED flash also matches the new leaked images of the Ace 6T.
The Ace 6T/15R aims to reinforce OnePlus's pivot towards raw performance over the "spec-balance" approach. Now, the key question is how fans will react to these changes.
