The OnePlus 15 is expected to launch in October in China. It will be a flagship offering, succeeding the OnePlus 13. Currently, the company has not revealed any specifications of the upcoming phone. However, a new leak outlines the display and gaming enhancements.
Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo claims that the OnePlus 15 will feature a display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and a 1.5K resolution. For comparison, the OnePlus 13's display has a 120 Hz refresh rate. The highest refresh rate the company has offered so far is 144 Hz, seen on its latest performance-oriented phone, the Ace 5 Ultra.
The tipster also suggests that the OnePlus 15 will utilize a new performance engine designed to support 165 fps gaming. The company has developed gaming-focused technologies in the past. For example, the Fengchi Game Kernel, introduced with the Ace 5 series, was designed to optimize CPU and GPU performance for a better gaming experience.
As for other expected specifications, the OnePlus 15 may use the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. It is expected to be Qualcomm's next-gen flagship chipset. A previous leak suggested that the chipset may score around 3.8 million points in the AnTuTu benchmark. For comparison, the OnePlus 13 in our review managed to score 2.7 million points.
The phone may also feature a 7,000mAh battery, up from the 6,000mAh on the OnePlus 13. A previous leak also suggested a redesigned rear camera module. All of the above information remains unconfirmed and hence should be taken with a pinch of salt.
