OnePlus 13: Earlier than expected launch confirmed with impressive gaming performance touted

The President of OnePlus China has shared a few details about the release and performance potential of the company's next flagship smartphone. For context, OnePlus is believed to be focusing on the OnePlus 13 as a direct successor to the OnePlus 12 (curr. $699.99 on Amazon), which it initially introduced in December 2023.

Typically, OnePlus leaves a year between updating its flagship smartphones. However, OnePlus China's President has revealed that will not be the case. Confirming earlier leaks in the process, Louis Lee states that the 'new OnePlus flagship product' will be 'released next month' with the 'latest generation of flagship chips'. Please note that this release window will likely only apply to China and not worldwide.

By contrast, it remains to be seen when OnePlus will deliver its next-generation flagship outside its home market. Based on previous releases, the OnePlus 13 will not make its way outside China until early 2025. With that being said, the prospect of the device debuting just ten months after its predecessor in China suggests that the OnePlus 13 may be available internationally before the end of the year. Incidentally, Lee also teases that the OnePlus 13 will be capable of running Genshin Impact at 120 FPS; we would recommend waiting for independent reviews to arrive before passing judgement on this claim, though.
