OnePlus 10T Chinese launch cancelled at the last minute
While our OnePlus 10 Pro review lauded the smartphone for offering a premium flagship experience, its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC disallowed it from unlocking its full potential. Hence, its spiritual successor, the OnePlus 10T or OnePlus Ace Pro in China, was a highly anticipated launch. However, Chinese audiences may have to wait a while before they get their hands on a OnePlus Ace Pro, as OnePlus has cancelled the phone's launch event scheduled for today (August 3).
OnePlus took to Weibo to announce the OnePlus Ace Pro launch event cancellation, just a day after Motorola axed the Moto X30 Pro and Moto Razr 2022's grand reveal. Interestingly enough, OnePlus' statement was nearly identical to the one issued by Motorola, stating that the event was cancelled for "some reason". Thankfully, the global OnePlus 10T launch will proceed as per schedule.
Given that a YouTuber has already unboxed the OnePlus 10T, it is clear that the smartphone is ready to be launched, complete with a 160 W fast charger in the box, something that is becoming increasingly rare. However, the ongoing geopolitical situation in China/Taiwan could be why OnePlus chose to delay the event. There is no word about the new release date, but it should be confirmed soon once the situation is resolved.
