In recent years, Samsung has led the way when it comes to the speed of delivering major OS updates. For some reason, that has changed with Android 15, which serves as the basis for One UI 7. As it stands, only the devices that launched with One UI 7 are running Samsung's latest OS update, those being the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,204 on Amazon).
By contrast, almost all other Android OEMs have started offering Android 15 to their older devices, including laggards like Motorola and Sony. As it turns out, Samsung has no plans to begin rolling out Android 15 to any existing devices until the start of next month. Specifically, One UI 7 will begin is global rollout on April 7 to the following 19 devices:
- Galaxy S23
- Galaxy S23 FE
- Galaxy S23 Plus
- Galaxy S23 Ultra
- Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S24 FE
- Galaxy S24 Plus
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Galaxy Tab S10 Plus
- Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra
- Galaxy Tab S9
- Galaxy Tab S9 FE
- Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus
- Galaxy Tab S9 Plus
- Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Flip5
- Galaxy Z Flip6
- Galaxy Z Fold5
- Galaxy Z Fold6
Unfortunately, Samsung has not elaborated further yet. Instead, it includes the caveats that the timing of One UI 7's arrival 'may vary by market'. In other words, Samsung has not yet committed itself to rollout schedules for particular markets. The company has only hinted that One UI 7 will reach 'more Galaxy smartphones and tablets' rather than providing specifics in this regard.
On top of that, not all the devices listed above will receive the same new features. For example, Samsung has decided against bringing Audio Eraser to the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Tab S9 series, nor the Galaxy Z Fold5 or Galaxy Z Flip5. Please see the company's press release for more details.
