Niwalker ES01: New EDC flashlight sports triple-head design

Niwalker has launched the ES01, a shortened version of its triple-head flashlight design. This EDC flashlight measures just 3.5 inches long and weighs around 2.8 ounces. Its head is naturally quite large by comparison, measuring approximately 1.5 inches across.

This unusual design is far from new. Fenix Lighting used a similar arrangement on the TK45 in 2010, primarily to produce an exceptionally high output for the time. The ES01 takes a different approach, with each head serving a specific purpose. One produces a 6,500K spotlight, another provides a 4,000K floodlight, and the third emits UV light. The cool and warm white lights can be combined in Turbo mode.

The flashlight uses a replaceable 14500 cylindrical cell, which is the same size as an AA battery but operates at a different voltage. It can be charged through a USB-C port on the head. Combining the two main lights activates Turbo mode, which delivers 800 lumens with a range of approximately 984 feet and a runtime of 40 minutes. The cool white light alone reaches up to 880 ft. The warm white light has a shorter range of just 540 ft due to its wider beam but offers accurate color reproduction with a CRI of 90.

Longer runtimes are possible despite the small battery, as shown in the table at the end of the article, although the higher output levels should be avoided. The UV light runs for 3.5 hours. Strangely, Niwalker has not yet listed the ES01 on its website. The gadget is already available at some retailers, including the flashlight specialist Flashlightgo, where it costs around $45.
