Acebeam M1 2.0: New version of LEP/LED combo flashlight launches with discount

The Terminator M1 2.0 is the newly introduced successor to Acebeam’s heavy-duty LEP/LED combo flashlight, pairing an LEP unit with an LED unit side by side in the same chassis. The LEP module can project beams over exceptionally long distances – up to approximately 1,620 m (1,772 yd), a minor improvement over the original Terminator M1’s similarly capable range of 1,600 m (1,750 yd). As is typical for LEP, the beam remains very narrow even at a distance, though Acebeam has equipped it with an optical zoom range of 3.1° to 23°, an upgrade from the predecessor’s maximum of 16°.
The LED module offers a slightly higher output than before, increasing from 3,500 lumens to 3,900 lumens. However, its range has been reduced from 231 m to 160 m (253 yd to 175 yd), resulting in a wider beam. Besides allowing the LEP and LED to be operate in tandem, the Terminator M1 2.0 also includes a red-light mode for use at night. Another new feature is an integrated USB-C port used for charging the removable 21700 cylindrical cell.
As usual, the runtime specifications are fairly complex. For instance, the LED flashlight can sustain 1,000 lumens for about three hours. In turbo mode, however, it operates at 3,900 lumens for three minutes before stepping down to 1,000 lumens for an estimated 2 hours 50 minutes. In its ultra-low setting, the LED can run at 2 lumens for up to 9.5 days. The LEP light isn’t really intended for continuous use and lasts a maximum of 6.5 hours in its lowest mode. Acebeam’s full runtime table is provided below for reference.
Controls have also been revamped. Version 2.0 now features a rotary tail switch that includes a lockout function to prevent accidental activation.
Scheduled to begin shipping on July 15, the Acebeam Terminator M1 2.0 is currently available for preorder at $214.70 (€206). Since this is an introductory offer, the device is expected to return to its official list price of $289.90 (€275) later on, making it roughly $10 (€10) more expensive than its predecessor.
