IWA | Nitecore Carbo: 20,000mAh power bank is waterproof and sports a display

Nitecore has revealed a new power bank at IWA 2026. The Carbo 20 is a larger version of the pretty light Carbo 10000 and offers 20,000 instead of 10,000mAh of capacity. Since Nitecore uses a higher voltage, the Carbo 20 also provides more capacity than other power banks in the 20,000mAh class, 78Wh to be more precise. On top of that, Nitecore also promises higher efficiency when charging devices. Roughly speaking, Nitecore power banks are said to offer about 30% more energy. However, that depends on how much power it has to deliver.
The higher the wattage, the less efficient the power bank is likely to be. Exact technical specs are still missing, but the new Nitecore power bank can be charged at up to 65 watts and can also output up to 65 watts (3.25A at 20V). That makes it suitable for laptops and other larger devices.
As for the housing, Nitecore is again using carbon fiber reinforced plastic, also known as carbon. That keeps the power bank light while still making it rugged as well as waterproof. The manufacturer further mentioned a weight of 13.4 oz, so this power bank will stay comparatively light. That said, the Carbo 20 still adds a bit of extra weight. Nitecore’s cold-resistant Summit 20000 (77Wh) is lighter at around 10.6 oz. However, it is more geared toward smartphones and only delivers 22 watts. It is also rated for temperatures down to -40°F and has an integrated heater. The Carbo 20 does not have that and is more of an everyday power bank.
Nonetheless, the gadget has enough space for a small status display that shows remaining capacity as a percentage, which is rather unusual for Nitecore. There are two USB-C ports for charging other devices, one of them can be used to recharge the power bank itself. The new Nitecore Carbo 20 is expected to launch sometime in Q2 2026. The company did not want to unveil an official price tag just yet, but it is expected to be fairly expensive. For context, the Carbo 10000 Gen 2 has an MSRP of $119 in the US.
