Following an increasing number of users report that their Nintendo Switch 2 is overheating, Jsaux is now offering an external cooling fan that’s designed to keep temperatures of the handheld console in check. The manufacturer further claims this will improve gaming performance and battery life.

More and more Nintendo Switch 2 users are reporting that the console is overheating and can even shut down after several hours of gaming. These reports may coincide with recent heatwaves in certain regions, and accessory specialist Jsaux now wants to provide a solution.

Therefore, Jsaux is introducing a clip-on fan for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is designed to cool the back of the console from over 37 degrees to between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius during gameplay. Jsaux claims that this additional cooling will slightly improve gaming performance during extended use, as the console's processor won't have to throttle. The lower temperatures are also said to extend the battery's lifespan. Power is supplied via the USB-C port on top of the Nintendo Switch 2.

An additional USB-C port on the back allows the console to charge while using the Jsaux fan. This port can charge the console with up to 18 watts, and Jsaux recommends a 65-watt USB-C charger to fully charge the console in three hours. The fan speed can be adjusted via a rotary knob, and Jsaux notes that higher revs will obviously lead to more fan noise.

Price and availability

The Jsaux Cooling Fan for the Nintendo Switch 2 (GP0201A) is now available at the manufacturer's online shop for $39.99. Jsaux also ships to many European countries for a fee of $6.99, but shipping is free for orders over $49.99.
