New premium tablet arrives with 2.4K display and impressive pen capabilities

Huion may not be as well known in the tablet segment as, say, Samsung or Lenovo, but the brand is well respected among content creators and digital artists. 

The brand's latest Android-based drawing tablet, dubbed the Kamvas Pad 12, is now available for purchase. Priced at $499, the tablet offers a healthy set of features and attractive specs.

First, the Kamvas Pad 12 tablet features a 12.2-inch laminated display with a resolution of 2400 by 1600 (3:2) and refresh rate of 90 Hz. Huion claims that the LCD panel features a peak brightness of around 350 nits and covers 99% of the sRGB color gamut. 

The display features Huion's PenTech 4.0 technology, which, according to the company, ensures that the PW600C pen performs admirably without requiring any power of its own, thanks to the magic of EMR. A resolution of 5800 LPI has been stated.

The tablet also features 16,384 levels of pressure sensitivity, 60° of tilt recognition, and a report rate of 260 PPS.

At its core, the tablet is powered by a 6 nm Mediatek Genio 720 SOC with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The Genio 720 is not as common as Mediatek's Dimensity lineup of SoCs, especially when it comes to tablets and smartphones. The SoC features an octa-core setup consisting of two Cortex-A78 and six Cortex-A55 cores, and should be powerful enough for most day-to-day workloads and lightweight tasks.
