New leak shares more about Vivo's upcoming affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phone

The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is set to launch as one of the first phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Recent reports have already painted a good picture of what to expect from this upcoming sub-flagship, and now, Digital Chat Station, a reliable leaker, has shared more about the phone.

In the latest report, the Weibo tipster reiterates the compact nature of the smartphone. To be specific, as shared in past reports, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini is expected to have a 6.3-inch display. The tipster adds that this will be a flat screen with an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It will reportedly feature a "full-level" water resistance rating and have a relatively large 6,500 mAh battery (10K Iniu Slim power bank curr. $21.99 on Amazon).

Interestingly, the tipster shares that the S50 Pro Mini will sport a "horizontal" bar on the back, which will house the rear cameras. This camera island could make it look similar to the iPhone Air.

Regarding the sensors, Digital Chat Station shares that the sub-flagship phone will sport a 50 MP IMX882 periscope and a 50 MP primary camera. There could be a third sensor on the back of the Vivo S50 Pro Mini, and it will likely be an ultrawide.

As for the launch, Vivo has teased that it's set for December 2025 in China, and the phone could make a global debut as the X300 FE. Vivo has also recently confirmed that the upcoming lineup will feature UFS 4.1 storage and LPDDR5X RAM with a rated speed of 9600 Mbps. These, paired with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, could make the S50 Pro Mini a great pick as a flagship killer if the price is right.
