New iPhone 14 release date surfaces as fan-made iPhone 14 Pro concept renderings show Apple's iOS 16 in action
Just recently we reported on a potential Apple iPhone 14 release date that had been shared on social media by the well-known tech commenter Max Weinbach. He claimed that a reliable source had told him that the all-important date would be September 6, which was a week earlier than the previous favorite for the iPhone 14 release date: September 13. But it appears Weinbach has thrown a spanner in the works by reporting that he has now heard from a different source that the Apple iPhone event will actually take place on September 7, which is a Wednesday.
No information about this different source is offered; however, another leaker, iHacktu, has been insistent that September 6 was not the correct date for the iPhone 14 launch and that fans should “keep an eye” on the Apple website on September 7. So now we have September 6, September 7, and September 13 as arguably the most likely dates for Apple to officially announce its 2022 iPhone lineup. Apple has been known to throw some curveballs here and there, so it could be that Cupertino plumps for a Wednesday instead of the traditional Tuesday to unleash the iPhone 14 series.
It's not just the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max that are coming soon – iOS 16 should be officially winging its way to compatible iPhones within the next few weeks. For those wondering what the latest iPhone operating system, which was announced at WWDC22 in June, will look like in action, a graphic designer known as AR7 on Twitter has come up with a set of images that show the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max taking advantage of iOS 16. So, there is the always-on display included along with the battery power indicator and, of course, the “i”-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera equipment.
