New iPad models could arrive in the last quarter
Apple seems to have big plans for this year, since the new Macs with ARM coprocessors onboard are not the only products expected to arrive before 2019 kicks in. The next-gen iPad slates have been in the rumor mill for a while, but their alleged launch date and details keep changing. Now, the time has come to take a quick look at the iPad X concept render that has been around for a few months already, but also to get an update on the rumored launch period of this device, which has been pushed towards the end of the year.
According to Bloomberg Technology editor Mark Gurman, "The new iPad, due to be released toward the end of the year, will probably also include the Apple-designed graphics engine and AI chip." Previous rumors mentioned that the new iPads would arrive by the end of May, and at least one model would feature Face ID/TrueDepth capabilities.
Considering the above, it would not be surprising for the iPad X concept renders by Martin Hajek to be quite close to the real thing. Just as expected, Apple has not given away any details concerning these new slates yet. Martin believes that the iPad design needs a refresh, so "What could be more obvious than taking the iPhone X design style and slapping it onto the iPad Pro?" He combined the iPad Pro 12.9 form factor with a bigger screen that has a notch similar to the one of the iPhone X.
Although these renders have been around since last November, they are not getting old at all. In fact, Apple could use them as inspiration, although we are sure that nobody will be sorry if they forget about the notch.
