New budget OnePlus phone launched with 8,000mAh battery, single usable rear camera

The OnePlus N6 has been officially launched in India, days after the phone was unboxed. The N6 is OnePlus's effort to create a new series of budget Android phones, distinct from its current Nord line, and focuses on battery life and price rather than power.
It has an 8,000mAh battery, which OnePlus says is the biggest in its segment, with 45W SuperVOOC fast charging, 5W reverse wired charging, and bypass charging. OnePlus says the battery is rated for 1,600 charge cycles and will retain 80 percent capacity after seven years.
The phone has a 6.8-inch 120Hz LCD display with a 1,570 x 720 resolution and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits in high brightness mode. There’s a single speaker unit, which OnePlus claims is “oversized” to deliver up to 400% more volume, though the company has not said what that number is measured against.
It’s powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6360 Apex, an overclocked version of the Dimensity 6100 Plus. Both the RAM options of 4GB and 6GB come with fixed storage of 128GB but there is a microSD slot for expansion up to 2TB.
There’s also only a single 50MP camera on the back. The other lenses are just there for aesthetics, it seems. The front camera, on the other hand, features an 8 MP sensor. Video tops out at 1080p, with 60fps only available on the 6GB model. The phone also has a feature called “dual-view video” that allows recording from both cameras at the same time.
The N6 is shipping with OxygenOS 16 and AI features including AI Eraser, AI Portrait Glow, and AI Recompose. OnePlus promises two OS updates and three years of security patches. The phone is MIL-STD-810H durability certified, has an IP65 rating for dust and splashes, and comes in Fresh Mint and Midnight Green colors.
The 4GB/128GB version will cost Rs 22,999 ($240 approx.), while the 6GB/128GB costs Rs 24,999 ($260). The prices for the base model are Rs 19,999 (around $210) and Rs 21,999 ($230) with launch discounts and instant bank offers. The OnePlus N6 goes on sale in India starting July 4, though no global availability was mentioned.
