The Epic Games Store has been giving away Mages of Mystralia since last week. While that deal will end at 16:00 UTC today, the storefront will be replacing it with Them's Fightin' Herds, a fighting game developed by Mane6 and published across Linux, macOS, Windows and current-generation consoles including the Nintendo Switch (curr. $299 on Amazon).
Please note that Epic Games latest deal only discounts the base game, not the Deluxe Edition that adds a Season 1 Pass with additional content. On top of that, Epic Games distributes just the Windows version of the game. By contrast, Steam also offers Linux and macOS ports. For reference, the Windows version should run on pretty much any system thanks to low recommended requirements like 8 GB of RAM, a GPU with 750 MB of VRAM and a dual-core CPU with at least a 2 GHz base clock.
As the review video below highlights, Them's Fightin' Herds is suitable for fighting beginners and veterans alike thanks to a comprehensive tutorial system. The game has received decent reviews from other reviewers too, although the limited character roster is a frequent point of criticism. Them's Fightin' Herds will be free to download from the Epic Games Store from 16:00 UTC today until 15:59 UTC on March 13.
