The EcoFlow Glacier portable cooler is now available in the US and EU. EcoFlow claims it is the first portable fridge-freezer with a built-in ice maker and detachable battery. The cooler has two storage compartments with independent temperature controls, from -13 to 50°F (~-25 to 10°C). The total storage volume is 38 L, and the compartment divider doubles as a chopping board. Plus, the ice maker can produce 18 smaller ice cubes in around 12 minutes.
The Glacier's 298 Wh add-on battery allows the cooler to run for up to 24 hours when chilling or 10 hours when freezing. The power pack has a 100W USB-C input and output, allowing you to charge other gadgets. The battery can be fully recharged via a 180W wall charger or a 240W solar input in around two hours. You can control the cooler's settings using an accompanying app, selecting ECO or fast cooling modes. Alternatively, you can adjust the settings with buttons next to the built-in display.
The EcoFlow Glacier portable cooler is sold in the US for US$999, with the detachable battery sold separately for US$299. In the EU, a bundle of these two products costs €1,399, though you can also buy an additional battery for €299. Plus, you can purchase an optional wheel and handle accessory kit for €119 in Europe, which adds more durable wheels to make the gadget easier to transport.
