The highly awaited Casio G-Shock x Rui Hachimura collab that just showed up on Casio Japan website on September 1 (with preorder status) is seemingly already available to buy on Casio's Canada website. This confirms that the GM-5600RH-1 watch will indeed be available outside Japan.
The G-Shock x Rui Hachimura collab has been in talks for a while now, with numerous leaks leading up to this launch. Priced at $400 CAD (~$290) on Casio’s Canada store, the watch still has the familiar 5600-series square silhouette but with a set of custom design touches that include Hachimura’s identity.
The bezel is ion-plated in black, while the dial has red accents against a dark background for contrast. Hachimura’s "Black Samurai" logo, which combines the kanji for eight (hachi) with the image of a samurai helmet, is engraved on the case back. The watch comes in special black-and-red packaging, with both the outer box and cylindrical case featuring his signature branding.
In terms of specs, the GM-5600RH-1 has the standard G-Shock build: a resin and stainless-steel construction, shock resistance, and 200-meter water resistance. It weighs 80 grams and uses a bio-based resin band, reflecting Casio’s gradual shift toward environmentally conscious materials. Features include a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, multi-function alarm, LED backlight, and full auto-calendar (to the year 2099). The watch runs on a CR2016 battery rated for approximately five years.
Interestingly, the G-Shock x Rui Hachimura collab watch can be picked up for cheaper, but only for today (September 2), thanks to the Labour Day sale. Using the code LABOUR20, you can knock 20% off the $400 CAD MSRP - that's $80 CAD. The final price including taxes comes down to $358 CAD and change.
