New Apple TV 4K now available with Apple A19 and superior HomePod support

Apple has finally updated the Apple TV 4K, almost four years after it announced its 3rd generation model. For context, the Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) arrived with the A15 Bionic chipset from the iPhone 13 generation. Additionally, Apple offered the 3rd generation with 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, with the latter adding Ethernet and Thread connectivity too.
By contrast, the Apple TV 4K (4th generation) moves up to the Apple A19. A 3 nm chipset, the Apple A19 can already be found in iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e (curr. $569 - renewed on Amazon). Moreover, the new Apple TV 4K only comes with 128 GB of storage, eschewing the cheaper 64 GB variant altogether.
On top of that, the Apple TV 4K (4th generation) contains Gigabit Ethernet, Thread networking, Wi-Fi 7 and HDMI 2.1, albeit only with support for up to 4K/60 FPS. Setting that aside, the 4th generation model can output to four HomePods; previous Apple TVs topped out at outputting to a pair of HomePods.
The Apple TV 4K (4th generation) is available to purchase starting today. However, pre-orders will not begin shipping until November 13. Apple is offering a single SKU at launch, which it has priced at $299 in the US, £299 in the UK and €349 in the Eurozone.
