Movano Health has not shown any signs of dawdling in its quest to make the Evie Ring into a reliable medical-grade biofeedback tool. Following the beta launch of EvieAI, the smart ring maker has added new data visualization features on the Evie app that help women correlate their health metrics.

When Movano Health first launched the Evie Ring in early 2024 with its signature woman-centric design, it faced a number of challenges and could barely keep up with the competition from Samsung, Oura and Circular which did not suffer from the first-gen issues and boasted superior insights. One year later, the smart ring maker has secured FDA approval for its pulse oximeter, released an AI model trained on peer-reviewed medical journals and is currently working to cement its position as a reliable women's health and wellness tracker.

Consequently, the companion app of the Evie Ring is getting some data presentation upgrades. The new features are immediately available on the iOS app and iPhone users will be delighted to know that Apple Health integration has finally arrived. Women can port their data between apps, and view all relevant information on the same platform.

The Evie app will now include the date and phase of the user's menstrual cycle in a bid to place its women's health-focus front and center. This is in addition to the activity levels, calories burnt and step counter that displays on the Daily Summary graphic.

Movano Health has also announced comprehensive 7-day and 30-day graphs for visualizing trends in user's mood, energy levels and sleep metrics including respiration rate, resting heart rate, skin temperature and oxygen saturation (SpO2). Another color-coded graphic provides heart rate variability over the course of the day, indicating hours of activity and inactivity.

There are even more good ideas here. Wearing a metal ring while working out can cause discomfort and though the Evie Ring's zirconium-based liquidmetal alloy claims to fix this, people will still take off their rings at the gym out of habit, or a fear of scratching. Previously, this would invariably prevent the ring from tracking these exercises, but the app now allows women to log past workouts for exercises performed while the smart ring was off the finger.

These upgrades alone are unlikely to cause a major shift the market share of the Evie Ring, but they help fix another piece of the women's health puzzle Movano Health is attempting to solve. At $269, Evie is already much more affordable than most other rings in its category. The Evie Ring also doesn't require any subscription fees, which keeps the price low over its lifetime. Buy it on the Evie website.
