More evidence that Motorola is preparing a successor to the Moto G55 has emerged online. To recap, 91mobiles disclosed information about the device a few weeks ago as part of a wider leak concerning upcoming Motorola smartphones.
Now, the same device has appeared on Geekbench sporting what looks to be a new and unannounced MediaTek chipset. According to Geekbench, the Moto G56 relies upon a chipset codenamed 'Bogota' packing a pair of ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocked at 2.6 GHz and six Cortex-A55 CPU cores running at 2 GHz. The benchmarking platform also reports that Bogota utilises an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU from Imagination PowerVR.
In short, Bogota appears to be an overclocked Dimensity 7025, itself a slightly faster version of the Dimensity 7020. The Moto G56 will feature 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage too, just like the Moto G55 (curr. $215.99 on Amazon). However, it will jump up to Android 15 from the Android 14 that Motorola pre-installs on the Moto G55. A release date remains unknown for now, although the device is expected to arrive for €250 (~$271) in Black, Blue and Dill colourways.
