Zepp Health is rolling out Zepp app version 9.12.1 to Amazfit smartwatch users with an Android smartphone. A similar update arrived for iOS users at the end of August, though the company has since released another update, version 9.12.3, on the Apple App Store.
For Android users, version 9.12.1 brings support for the Biocharge metric for users of the T-Rex 3 Pro and Balance 2 smartwatches (curr. $299.99 at Amazon). The tool was noted in the change log for Balance 2 smartwatch update version 3.22.0.4, though it was only available for iOS users at the time. BioCharge arrived with the Helio Strap as a way to help users track their energy levels, grounded in data collected from their workouts, stress levels and sleep.
Another feature arriving with the Zepp App 9.12.x updates is Route Planning. Available in the Workouts section of the app, users can find a new ‘Create Route’ option. This opens an interactive map, powered by Google Maps, with users able to pre-define the course of their workout. The distance, elevation and descent are automatically calculated, and users can send the route to their watch, enabling them to head out without a phone. It is worth noting that it focuses on roads rather than paths or trails, though there is an option to set manual waypoints.
You can download Zepp app version 9.12.3 from the Apple App Store and version 9.12.1 from the Google Play Store.
