Microsoft has announced an early preview of Copilot for Gaming for Xbox Insiders on mobile. The preview, which is coming soon, will allow testers to try out a new AI coach designed to "help you save time," while playing.
The assistant can also help you discover new games and ease you back into a game that you might have stopped playing for some time. The "sidekick" is designed to be a "personalized gaming companion" that can coach you on games you are having trouble with or help you connect with other players in the same communities.
Fatima Kardar, Xbox Corporate Vice President of Gaming AI, says, "Gaming is the only form of entertainment where you can get stuck." Copilot for Gaming will "help you get past that."
The assistant can provide "situation-specific" advice in various scenarios and help players improve their skills. It can also "trash talk," if that's what you want. It can observe the way you approach games and suggest improvements. Besides that, it can let you know when friends are online and arrange sessions with them.
Microsoft emphasized that "the player remains in control," and will decide when and how to interact with the assistant. It can also help players download and update games.
While Microsoft did not mention a specific date for release, the company said the preview will be available on mobile first and then gradually expand to more devices. You can join the Xbox Insider Program here.
