It has been almost two years since Google released NotebookLM, an AI-powered tool that makes learning easy. Described as an AI Notebook, users can upload documents and have it generate summaries and even ask it questions. Last year, Google even added a new feature called Audio Overview that lets NotebookLM turn uploaded documents into an audio conversation akin to a podcast anchored by two people. However, as useful as NotebookLM is, it is only available as a web app, but that is expected to change soon.
A post on X by the official NotebookLM account has revealed that a NotebookLM app is coming soon. The post itself was a quoted response to a post praising the usefulness of NotebookLM as a study tool. The post didn't say when the app will be available and which platforms will get it first.
When the NotebookLM app does arrive, there's a possibility availability may be limited at first to select countries before a wider rollout. Nevertheless, the launch of a mobile app for such a useful tool has users excited.
In related news, NotebookLM has also revealed that Audio Overview will be available in languages other than English. They are also experimenting with different hosts and voices as well as different show formats. However, there is no timeline for when these features will be added.
