Microsoft launches a smaller and cheaper Xbox controller

Microsoft has unveiled a new Xbox controller that's smaller and cheaper than the standard model. Called the Xbox Nano Controller, the new accessory is designed to fit in your pocket for gaming on the go and is aimed at younger gamers and anyone with smaller hands.
At just over five inches in length and weighing 3.5 ounces, the Nano Controller is smaller and lighter than the iPhone 18 Pro (Notebookcheck review). Despite its smaller size, it has all the buttons and controls you'll find on the standard controller, though it still lacks Hall effect or TMR drift-free joysticks. Microsoft has also added a programmable action button for taking screenshots, recording gameplay, and accessing other shortcuts.
Unlike the standard controller, the Nano Controller comes with a rechargeable battery, so you won't need AA batteries. However, it only charges via USB-C and is not compatible with existing Xbox controller charging stations. For connectivity, it supports Xbox Wireless for Xbox consoles and Bluetooth for PCs, Android and iOS devices, and smart TVs.
The new Xbox Nano Controller is now available to preorder from the Xbox Store for $49.99. That's $15 cheaper than the standard controller, which costs $64.99 before discounts.
