Microsoft adds Nvidia and AMD GPU options to Windows 365 Cloud PC offerings
Microsoft has added three new Nvidia and AMD GPU-enabled configurations to its Windows 365 Cloud PC offerings. The desktop-as-a-service enables companies anywhere in the world to provide staff with a virtual PC configured with all necessary work software and settings.
The key differences of the three Windows 365 Enterprise offerings are:
- GPU Standard – Nvidia or AMD GPU with 8 GB VRAM, 16 GB RAM, 4 vCPU (virtual CPU)
- GPU Super – Nvidia GPU with 12 GB VRAM, 56 GB RAM, 8 vCPU
- GPU Max – Nvidia GPU with 16 GB VRAM, 110 GB RAM, 16 vCPU
The new configurations enable staff to run graphics-intensive applications like Autodesk Maya for 3D modeling and Blackmagic Davinci Resolve for video editing as well as demanding AI and scientific workloads. The GPU configurations are available in all supported regions except Central US, Norway East, and West Europe. Compatible GPU drivers are provided, and alternative drivers are not supported.
Windows 365 Cloud PCs run Windows 11 and behave just like real computers for running software like Microsoft Office. Companies can save money because they do not need to constantly upgrade computer hardware or deploy IT staff to offices to install new computers. Workers can log into their virtual computers with less powerful devices that have Internet access, including computers, tablets, phones, and LG HDTVs like this one on Amazon.
