Reviews for the Microsoft Surface Pro Copilot+

80.7% Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Analysis - More efficient than AMD & Intel, but Apple stays ahead | Notebookcheck
Qualcomm launches the new Snapdragon X Elite about nine months after the official announcement - with support from Microsoft and all the major laptop manufacturers. We were able to test the small X1E-78-100 as well as the X1E-80-100 and compare them with current chips from AMD, Apple and Intel. Update: Benchmarks of the Snapdragon X Plus (X1P-64-100)
80.7% Microsoft Surface Pro IPS Copilot+ review - The base model comes with an IPS display and the Snapdragon X Plus | Notebookcheck
The base variant of the new Surface Pro 11 has gone with an IPS display and the supposedly slower Snapdragon X Plus processor. In practice, you don't notice the lower performance but some constraints remain due to the ARM version of Windows.
Why I recommend this Windows 2-in-1 for work travel over the iPad Pro and Lenovo Yoga
Source: Zdnet.com English
Microsoft's Surface Pro 11th edition is an awesome computer for professional artists who want a high-performance machine with a brilliant display. The era of Windows on Arm laptops is finally here, and I can't wait to be a part of it. Prices for the device start at $999.99 (or $799, at the time of writing). My review unit with the 12-core Snapdragon X Elite chipset, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD costs $1,699. However, it's important to note that those prices are without accessories like the Flex keyboard. They cost extra, and they're not exactly cheap, with the Flex keyboard and Slim Pen combo running for $449.

75% Microsoft Surface Pro (11th-Generation) Review: Snapdragon x Microsoft Doesn’t Disappoint
Source: 91mobiles English
The Surface Pro 11th-Gen comes at a starting price tag of Rs. 1.15L, and impresses with its refined design, premium build quality, and versatile 2-in-1 functionality. Additionally, the shift to an ARM-based processor brings significant improvements in battery life and overall efficiency, making it a compelling option for professionals and students who prioritize portability and all-day productivity. The vibrant display, excellent audio quality, and comfortable keyboard further enhance the user experience. Further, the OLED panel comes at a hefty price tag, and both the Surface Pen and Keyboard also cost extra. Furthermore, the base storage of 256GB is quite low, similar to how Apple prices storage on their laptops.

Microsoft Surface Pro 11 review – Laptop Performance in a Tablet Body
Source: Laptop Media English
The Microsoft Surface Pro 11 is a premium machine with great build quality, snappy performance, and long battery life. If you want to transform this thing into a full-blown 2-in-1 device, you have to buy the pricey external keyboard. If you need a stylus, this will add a few more bucks to the hefty end price. The IPS screen (LP129WT342166 (LGD077B)) of our “laptop” has one important advantage over most OLEDs and that’s the lack of PWM usage. The panel is impressively bright since it nears 600 nits of max brightness in both SDR and HDR modes. The content creators out there should be happy because of the 99% sRGB coverage and the great average dE result of 0.9 when our “Design and Gaming” profile is applied.

100% Microsoft Surface Pro 11 review: Microsoft's cool convertible has found its moment
Source: It Pro English
The Surface Pro has always had the makings of a great business device, with all the power of a laptop, the portability of a tablet, the flexibility of a 2-in-1 convertible. What it hasn't had, though, is the internal hardware with the right mix of processing power and battery life. Now it has. The new Surface Pro is faster than many mainstream laptops, and will last significantly longer without a recharge. And while not every Windows application will run on ARM64 hardware, the list is getting shorter, and the most popular productivity and creative apps won't give you any problems. The Surface Pro 11 won't be for everyone, and it gets very expensive in its higher configurations, especially when you factor in the price of the Pro Flex keyboard. Yet it's a superb ultraportable computer, and one that feels like it's been built for what's happening in IT right now.

80% Microsoft Surface Pro 11 review: The best Windows 2-in-1 around
Source: Expert Reviews English
If you’re wavering, my advice would be to consider a regular laptop before buying the Surface Pro 11. All the alternatives I’ve mentioned in this review are cheaper – including the M3 MacBook Air – and you won’t have to purchase an extra keyboard to make them usable. However, that’s not to denigrate Microsoft’s achievement here; the Surface Pro 11 is unequivocally a fantastic laptop. As with all the recent Snapdragon machines we’ve looked at, its battery life is stunning. General performance is snappy, it will run most software without issue and it’s even a little upgradeable. It’s a fantastic alternative to the iPad Pro and it’s cheaper, too. The move to Snapdragon chips has been consolidated, nay strengthened, by the move to Snapdragon chips and this remains the best 2-in-1 detachable Windows laptop you can currently buy. If that’s what you want, go buy one.

70% Surface Pro (11th Edition) Review: Finally, a good ARM Surface
Source: Mobile Syrup English
That means that at the absolute cheapest price with just the $199.99 Surface Pro keyboard (which isn’t wireless), you’re looking at $1,649.98 for the Surface Pro (11th Edition). The base Surface Laptop, on the other hand, is $1,449.99 for the exact same specs, just in that traditional clamshell form factor. So right off the hop, unless you need the 2-in-1 form factor offered by the Surface Pro, you can save yourself at least $200 going with the Surface Laptop. The Snapdragon X chips offer tons of potential, while the Surface Pro (11th Edition) bundles it all in a familiar and versatile form factor, making for a compelling overall package that’s great for the following people:

The Paint and Photos apps are also loaded with AI-based features for creating and editing images. The options to remove background distractions and use blur effects to simulate portrait mode were useful; the styling options, which transform a photo into an alternate style (Impressionist, Anime, and so on) feel gimmicky. The real question is whether those features are powerful enough to make you switch from your current image-processing tool to one of Microsoft's built-in options. History says that's a pretty big ask. Even if you avoid the AI features completely, though, there's more than enough power in this budget PC. Plus, as long as your apps and hardware requirements aren't exotic, you'll appreciate its cool, quiet operation.

90% Surface Pro 11 review: just buy it
Source: Digital Trends English
The Surface Pro 11th Edition is the fulfillment of a long journey for this line of devices. It’s always been a device that was more about what it could be than what it’s been. But now, the Surface Pro is not just the best Windows 2-in-1 ever made, it makes a compelling case for the category as a whole. If this doesn’t inspire a larger movement in the ecosystem, nothing will. The only real downside is the price. The $999 base configuration sounds great, but you’ll need to add on the $140 keyboard at the very least. Most people may even opt for the $280 add-on that includes both the keyboard and Surface Slim Pen. That being said, Microsoft says it sells them separately to allow people to reuse older Type Cover keyboards.

The Microsoft Surface Pro has always been a hit among a certain subset of dedicated 2-in-1 users, but this latest device holds more promise than I was expecting. Its style, robustness, versatility, and brand new high-efficiency chip make this the strongest challenger to the iPad Pro I've ever seen.

Series:

Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) is the fifth generation in the Surface Pro family. The Surface Pro is solid as a rock and exudes a sense of futuristic quality. It’s also well-designed, with a look and feels that, while minimally changed from the Surface Pro 4, is still an improvement. The corners are more rounded, and the exhaust vents along the edges are less pronounced.  There aren’t many moving parts in the Surface Pro itself. The power and volume buttons along the top are easy to find by feel, and have a crisp action, while the kickstand is smooth and reliably holds the tablet at chosen angle. It now opens up to 165 degrees, an increase from the Surface Pro 4, which opened 150 degrees. Fully flexed, the kickstand can turn Surface Pro into a nearly-flat slate. If a user decides to flip into tablet mode for a moment and fold back the Type Cover, the keyboard will turn off when the cover is tucked back. It can even switch Windows 10 into tablet mode if desired. It attaches to the tablet with strong magnets and connects via a physical port, meaning there’s zero lag when typing. The Surface Pro sports two front-firing speakers on each side of the display. There are small cutouts in the glass to let the sound through, and the design provides impressive sound for a tablet. Music is great, with surprising range, and there’s even a hint of bass. The speakers also get surprisingly loud and can fill a decent sized room without distorting.

The Surface Pro features up to a seventh-generation Intel Core i7, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. It is seen that the Surface Pro offers a cutting-edge CPU, solid RAM and SSD options, and full support for all of Microsoft’s most innovative Windows 10 technologies. All that will keep the machine relevant for years to come. The Surface Pro is refreshingly light on bloatware. While it’s stocked with the usual Microsoft Windows 10 apps and a handful of casual games, it’s otherwise unencumbered with junk software. The Surface utility is also a nice app that offers the ability to configure the Surface Pen and get some useful information about your machine. Microsoft is using a 45-watt-hour battery in the Surface Pro, which is an increase from the 38 watt-hour battery that was packed into the Surface Pro 4. The Surface Pro also uses more efficient seventh-generation Intel Core processors. Taken together, the new model offers improved battery life over its predecessor. The Surface Pro is eminently portable, at 0.33 inches thick and 1.73 pounds. Even with the Signature Type Cover attached, the machine is easy to carry around and slip into a bag. It might not be quite as thin and light as the iPad Pro, but it’s also a much more powerful machine that can run real PC applications. The Surface Pro bring a whole new meaning to the word tablet. It is a iPad like device but is actually a real computer.

Hands-on article by Jagadisa Rajarathnam

Qualcomm Adreno X1-85 3.8 TFLOPS: An integrated graphics adapter that four Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors feature, as of Sep 2024. It has 1,536 unified shaders at its disposal that are said to run at up to 1,250 MHz. The underlying architecture is reportedly in many respects the same as what was used in the Adreno 730. While thankfully faster than the aging Intel Iris Xe (96 EUs), the Adreno fails to match the Radeon 780M meaning Baldur's Gate 3, a triple-A title released in 2023, is barely playable at 1080p on low with 23 fps on average. Triple-A games of 2024 fare even worse, in no small part due to Qualcomm's subpar graphics drivers.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

SD X Plus X1P-64-100: A moderately fast ARM architecture processor (SoC) for use in Windows laptops. The X1P-64-100 has 10 Oryon CPU cores running at no more than 3.4 GHz, along with the 3.8 TFLOPS Adreno X1-85 GPU. The 45 TOPS Hexagon NPU, an impressively fast LPDDR5x-8448 memory controller, USB 4.0 support, TB 4 support and PCIe 4 support are included as well.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

13.00":

This range of display format is largely the upper limit for tablets and the lower limit for subnotebooks.

The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small in size and therefore easily portable. The tiny display has the added advantage of requiring little power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is exhausting for the eyes. High resolutions, which one is used to from a standard laptop, are almost not usable.

The same applies to tablets in this size range.

Microsoft:

Microsoft smartphones and tablets have been tested since 2012. There are many reviews with average ratings. The reader's interest is quite given, but the market share is not big enough for the Top 5 smartphone manufacturers (as of 2016).

84.13%: This rating is slightly above average, there are somewhat more devices with worse ratings. However, clear purchase recommendations look different.
