Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3s prices to increase in the coming days

After consoles, handhelds, and laptops, we can now add VR headsets to the long list of components that got pricier due to the global memory shortage. UploadVR reports that Meta's entire current-gen lineup (Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3s) will get pricier coming this Sunday. The hike is global and will affect all markets where the headsets are sold officially. Here's what they will cost after the price hike:
- Meta Quest 3s 128 GB: $350 (was $300)
- Meta Quest 3s 256 GB: $450 (was $400)
- Meta Quest 3 512 GB: $600 (was $500)
This effectively inches ts the 512 GB Meta Quest 3 closer to its launch price of $650. At the time of writing, the Meta Quest 3S and Meta Quest 3 still start at $299 and $499, respectively. So, if you're in the market for a VR headset, now would be a very good time to purchase it.
Then again, with the Steam Frame still in flux, the Quest is pretty much the only mainstream standalone VR device available that one can buy right now. Initial tests suggest the Steam Frame might be a good deal, but it is very unlikely to undercut Meta's offerings in price. On the plus side, the extra cash also gets you dual-purpose VR headset that can play PC VR games on top of standalone titles.
