Meizu unveils Pro 6 smartphone with 3D Touch and octa-core SoC
The long-rumored Meizu Pro 6 will offer a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED touchscreen and a ten-core 2.5 GHz MediaTek Helio X25 SoC with 4 GB of system RAM. The integrated Mali-T880 GPU should be roughly equivalent to the Adreno 420 as found on smartphones with the Snapdragon 805 like the Galaxy Note 4. Internal storage will be available up to 64 GB with MicroSD support up to 128 GB.
Other notable features of the Pro 6 include "3D Press" technology similar to Apple's Force Touch and a fingerprint scanner. The rear 21 MP Sony IMX230 camera is accompanied by ten LEDs for Flash whereas nearly all other phones are equipped with just one LED. The webcam is the standard 5 MP resolution and the phone carries a battery capacity of 2560 mAh.
USB Type-C rounds up the list of features with colors available in Gray, Silver, Red, Gold, and Rose Gold. Prices start at 350 Euros and 380 Euros for the 32 GB model and 64 GB model, respectively. Most buyers outside of China may have to pay for import fees as well.
