A leak from earlier this week told us a lot about MediaTek's upcoming Dimensity 9300+ SoC for high-end smartphones. Like previous plus-branded chips that came before it, the upgrades are largely incremental,. MediaTek has now confirmed the mobile AP's release date. The Dimensity 9300+ will be unveiled at the annual MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference on May 7.
It may just get a passing mention, though, as the event is technical and will focus on AI. We can expect the Dimensity 9300+-powered Vivo X100s Pro to launch around the same time alongside the Vivo X100s and Vivo X100 Ultra. The Redmi K70 Ultra is expected to follow suit later.
Performance-wise, the Dimensity 9300+ is shaping up to be the fastest Android smartphone AP on the market. It trounces its non-plus variant and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in synthetic benchmarks. Besides, the real improvements are slated to arrive with the Arm Cortex-X5-powered Dimeisity 9400, which, if recent rumours are accurate, handily outperforms Qualcomm's new Nuvia CPU cores powering the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
