MediaTek Dimensity 9300 tipped for even more power-efficiency gains thanks to upgraded GPU
The Dimensity 9300 could be the first SoC to rock the new flagship Immortalis-G720 mobile GPU from ARM on its late 2023 launch. Now, the leaker Digital Chat Station might hint that this is indeed the case with a new post on the subject.
The 9300 is projected to have a straightforward (compared to the rumored intricacies of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, that is) 4+4 core layout touted to get ~50% more power-efficiency compared to its predecessor, despite its concomitant potential for performance gains.
Now, its GPU is also tipped to chip in in terms of power savings, improving by an alleged 25% in these terms compared to the Immortalis-G715 of the 9200. That alleged new statistic apparently pertains to "daily (non-peak) scenarios", suggesting that Dimensity 9300-powered smartphones will be better equipped to conserve battery during typical, undemanding use - on paper, at least.
Nevertheless, the same SoC's ability to take other next-gen flagship processors such as the Apple A17 Bionic remains to be seen.
