Maverick Games’ Clutch blends track racing, street racing, heavy customization, and heists

Maverick Games, the studio formed by a former Forza Horizon developer, has revealed its first game, called Clutch, a narrative-based open-world racing game. The team has been preparing for the reveal for a couple of weeks and has shared some information about the new game, with more coming at Summer Game Fest.
The reveal shows some footage of the game (linked below), but it is unclear if that is actual gameplay. The footage doesn’t state if it’s been captured in-game or in-engine. Nonetheless, Clutch revolves around two siblings who are “racing prodigies” as they stumble upon the underworld beneath the glamour of the prestigious R1K racing series.
The game seems to have a daytime legal racing setting paired with a nighttime not-so-legal street racing experience. There are cop chases, gadgets, car modifications, and more. This makes the game feel like a mix of Gran Turismo and older Need for Speed games like Underground and the Hot Pursuit series. Maverick Games also showed off the depth of customization that will be available to players, including both interior and exterior customization.
Clutch has been made on Unreal Engine 5, and while there is no release date or platform support revealed yet, more information will be shared during Summer Game Fest starting June 5.
