The Magic7 Pro has finally reached global availability, having debuted in China at the end of October. Incidentally, the device has lined up alongside the Magic7 Lite, albeit with a newer version of Android pre-installed than its mid-range counterpart.
Now, Honor has provided an update about the smartphone's software coverage, which is set to surpass that offered to the Magic6 Pro (curr. $818 on Amazon). For context, Honor has committed to furnishing last year's flagship with four major Android OS updates from Android 14 to Android 18. By contrast, its successor is set to receive another year of OS updates, which should see it being regularly updated until January 2030.
In other words, the Magic7 Pro should reach Android 20 with new security patch updates offered throughout. As a result, software support for the device will run out one Android version before Google and Samsung's latest flagships, which remain the standard bearers when it comes to receiving Android updates. Please see our recent Magic7 Pro launch article for details about its arrival in Europe and the UK.
