MachineGames is reportedly developing a long-rumored third mainline Wolfenstein title to conclude B.J. Blazkowicz’s arc, alongside a separate multiplayer project said to share tactical, team-based elements with Rainbow Six Siege. While both projects remain unannounced, recent rumors and past developer comments about “having a story left to tell” strongly suggest Wolfenstein is returning after a six-year hiatus.

The studio responsible for critically acclaimed games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and prior hits like the Wolfenstein series, Machine Games, is reportedly working on a third Wolfenstein game. Furthermore, the Sweden-based Bethesda studio is also working on a multiplayer game that shares elements from “Rainbow Six Siege.

Machine Games released its last game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, toward the end of 2024. The game received a major DLC called “The Order of Giants” on 4 September 2025. However, Machine Games’ Wolfenstein series has been on the back end of the studio's priority list as the series received its last major entry, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, way back in 2019.

It wouldn’t be a far stretch to assume that Machine Games is currently working on a third installment in the Wolfenstein franchise, given the fact that it's been confirmed that a live-action series is in the works at Amazon.

Wolfenstein was rebooted in 2014 with its first title, Wolfenstein: The New Order. Due to positive reception, the game was greenlit for a sequel, which arrived in 2017 as Wolfenstein: The New Colossus. However, the last entry in the series, Youngblood, was poorly received by fans, leading many to speculate that Machine Games went back to the drawing board.

New rumors suggest that Wolfenstein 3 would wrap up B.J. Blazkowicz's story arc, which Machine Games has long been rumored to be a trilogy.

Last year, Machine Games’ studio head Jerk Gustafsson shed light regarding the ongoing interest in the Wolfenstein franchise in an interview, and said:

The first game is very much about B.J. and how, obviously, he understands that the Nazis have won the war, but it’s also a very personal journey for him. But at the same time, he meets Anya, and he starts to see that there are other things at play as well, not only fighting Nazis.

He further talked about the sequel and mentioned, “And then, moving into New Colossus, then we move into a wider group of people around you, being part of the resistance, something bigger and something also like a family to you, but at the same time, you’re also preparing to start maybe your own family.”

Gustafsson further explained, “I think that’s important to say because, at least I hope, that we’re not done with Wolfenstein yet. We have a story to tell.”

On top of all this, Machine Games is working on a Rainbow Six Siege-like multiplayer title. It’s unclear if the game is tied to the Wolfenstein universe or a brand-new IP. Furthermore, Machine Games has yet to confirm a third installment to the Wolfenstein series or the new multiplayer title.
