MSI announces today the update of its entire lineup of gaming laptops which now receive the new NVIDIA GTX 900M series graphics cards. According to the official press release, the GS Stealth/Ghost and GT Dominator Series gaming laptops with NVIDIA GTX 900M graphics under their hoods "deliver up to 28% more graphics performance for a mobile gaming experience without barriers" when compared to their GTX 800M-powered predecessors.

Andy Tung, president of MSI Pan America, says "NVIDIA’s GTX 900M Series GPU delivers mobile graphics that are up to par with desktop graphics card models and superior to anything we’ve ever seen." In MSI's 3DMark 11 tests, the NVIDIA GTX 970M scored 28 percent more than the GTX 870M, while the high-end GTX 980M managed to beat the GTX 880M by 27 percent.

Next to the new graphics cards, the updated MSI gaming laptops come with the same cutting edge hardware parts as before - Intel Core i7 "Haswell" processors, Killer E2200 networking, Sound Blaster Cinema and Dynaudio technology, MSI Super RAID with up to 4XSSD drives in RAID 0, and more.

The list of updated models includes the GS70 Stealth Pro and GS60 Ghost Pro, as well as the GT Dominator lineup. These machines are already available starting at $1,599.99 USD, while a special edition GS70 Stealth Pro in Crimson Red "will be available through online retailers with next gen graphics" soon. Unfortunately, its details have not been disclosed yet.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
