CES 2015 | MSI unveils GE62 and GE72 Apache gaming laptops
At CES 2015 in Last Vegas, MSI unveiled two new gaming laptops in its Apache series. The GE62 and the GE72 are two new notebooks that stand out in the line-up as the manufacturer integrated high-performance components in a body that's very thin for the gaming notebook category.
The 15-inch MSI GE62 Apache has thickness of 27mm at a weight of 2.4kg, while the 17-inch GE72 Apache has a thickness of 29mm at a weight of 2.7kg. Both models come with aluminum housings.
As far as the processing power is concerned, the new notebooks feature various Intel Core i7 processors from the Broadwell generation paired with up to 16GB of RAM, while the GPU used is either the Nvidia GeForce 965M or the GTX 970M, depending on the configuration.
The MSI GE72 comes with a 17.3-inch display running a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels (FullHD). The 15.6-inch display on the GE62 runs at 4K / UHD (3840 by 2160 pixels), while the base model comes with a FullHD panel.
Other specs include a multicolored illuminated keyboard, a sound system from Dynaudio, Wifi A / C, three USB 3.0 ports, an USB 2.0 port, a HDMI 1.4a port, and a DisplayPort 1.2 Mini port.
The MSI GE62 Apache and GE72 Apache will be released in Europe by the end of January. Pricing starts at 1149 Euros for the GE62 and at 1899 Euros for the GE72.
