MSI today announced a new addition to their large line of gaming notebooks, adding the GT72 to the fray. The laptop was on hand at Computex here in Taiwan and while MSI is being vague with the specifications, we managed to find out some of the details.
For starters, the GT72 is the official successor to the GT70, with plans of making both notebooks available simultaneously for a time period before eventually discontinuing the GT70. The new gaming laptop will come in at 17.3", full-HD IPS display with a matte finish and weighs less than the GT70's 8.6lbs. A single NVIDIA GPU of the 800 lineup will take care of graphics, while MSI is promising the latest in Intel quad-core processing as well. A dual-vent cooling system is also found on the GT72, supposedly putting a dent in the loudness of the laptop.
Other features include improvements on the SteelSeries keyboard's stiffness, a larger touchpad and improved light effects but not a lot else was revealed. The laptop should be available at a higher price than the GT70 sometime this October and interested parties can peruse our gallery below in the meantime.
