Deal | MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo ultrabook with Intel Core Ultra 7 285V available for pre-order at only $1,199.99

The first Lunar Lake laptops are expected to ship next week, while retailers already allow for pre-orders. Among the first models to be available is the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo that can now be pre-ordered from Amazon for $1,399.99, but there is a nearly identical variant from MSI called Prestige 13 Copilot+ Evo, which is $200 less expensive at Costco. Judging by the model number provided on Costco’s site, these are just different variants of the Prestige 13 AI+ Evo.

Apart from the PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD solution, both variants seem to be identical. The Amazon model features 2 TB storage, while the Costco only 1 TB. However, the 1 TB difference is certainly not worth $200, so Costco seems to be applying a $100 discount on top.

The price point is particularly enticing for a 32 GB RAM model, as there still are Meteor Lake models with 16 GB of RAM at around the same price. Additionally, the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V comes with even faster LPDDR5X-8533 RAM directly on-package.

Since it comes with the latest Intel Evo specs, this model is fairly light at 2.18 lbs and its profile is among the slimmest in class at just 0.67 inches. The total system weight also includes a 75 Wh battery that is rather rare on a 13-inch laptop.

On the display side, MSI is supplying a high-quality 13.3-inch OLED panel with 2.8K resolution and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The processor comes with the Arc Graphics 140V iGPU that is a bit faster than AMD’s Radeon 780M, yet the 2.8K resolution will most likely overwhelm it especially if high-quality settings are enabled. A fast NPU is offered, as well.

Port selection is excellent, with 2x Thunderbolt 4 connectors, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, an HDMI 2.1 video out, a microSD card reader and an audio jack. Internet connectivity is offered through an Intel® Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1750(w) card with BT 5.4. The keyboard features white backlight and a fingerprint reader, and, for increased security, this model also features a 5 MP webcam with IR sensor and privacy shutter.
