Deal | MSI GL65 with 10th gen Core i7, 144 Hz IPS display, GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, and 16 GB RAM on sale for $769 USD after rebates
Now that laptops with Nvidia Ampere are on store shelves, many retailers will be getting rid of the older generation Pascal models at steep discounts. Newegg, for example, is currently listing the MSI GL65 10SDR with Intel Core i7 and GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics for $869 USD before applying rebates.
The $700 to $800 USD range isn't uncommon for a gaming laptop with the GTX 1660 Ti GPU. Instead, what makes this deal more notable is that its specifications haven't been neutered just to meet a low price point. Most other gaming laptops with this same GPU and price would typically come with much slower Core i5 CPUs, 60 Hz displays, and just 8 GB of RAM or half the storage. In comparison, the MSI configuration in question comes with a 10th gen Core i7-10750H, 16 GB of RAM, 144 Hz display, and a combined 1.5 TB of storage space.
Interested buyers should keep in mind that the GL65 is MSI's entry-level gaming laptop meaning the plastic chassis won't feel as luxurious as the costlier MSI GT or GS series. End-user RAM and storage upgrades, while possible, may require voiding the warranty. The 144 Hz display has poor colors as well at just 45 percent of NTSC to be unfit for serious graphics editing.
