Minisforum has returned to sharing more details about its forthcoming MS-02 Ultra mini-PC after debuting the MS-R1 mini-PC and DEG2 eGPU in the intervening period. Incidentally, the company is now offering its M1-1295 mini-PC in a cheaper configuration too (curr. $409 on Amazon).
To recap, Minisforum showcased the MS-02 Ultra last month during Japan Autumn IT Week 2025 in Chiba. While the company disclosed limited hardware specifications globally, PC Watch managed to obtain photos from the event, like the inclusion of an Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX processor and the option of including up to 256 GB of RAM.
Now, Minisforum has confirmed as much across its social media platforms. As the image below shows, the MS-02 Ultra also contains four M.2 2280 slots for up to 32 TB of storage. Also, the mini-PC integrates 3 PCIe slots, 25 Gigabit Ethernet and a pair of USB V2 ports delivering 80 Gbps peak bandwidth each. Moreover, the MS-02 Ultra boasts a slide-out design for easy maintenance, all within a 4.8 litre case.
The MS-02 Ultra is also a CES Innovation Awards 2026 Honoree in the expo's Computer Hardware & Components segment. On the one hand, this announcement all but confirms that Minisforum will be bringing the MS-02 Ultra to Las Vegas in January as part of its CES 2026 showcase. On the other hand, the announcement indicates that Minisforum does not plan to start selling its so-called 'Mini AI workstation' until the beginning of next year.
